Creating A Vibrant Summer Table for Your Event
If you are entertaining this summer, consider making a bold color choice. We all have been inside and are in need of cheering up with a bit of vibrancy in our life!
For this tabletop design I choose the color yellow, because it just made me happy! There are so many color hues you can choose like, red, blue, orange or pink. Once, you choose the color let it be your muse for the dining table inspiration.
Here are my how to tips for creating your summer table.
|1| Start with your dining table linens and napkins. I always like to have a bold or pattern in my design then pull one color from it to tie the look together. It is also great to mix textures, which is easy to do in your runner or napkins.
|2| Select your china and flatware to match your design look. Since this was inspired for a youthful summer brunch, I used the modern porcelain rimless plates. The flatware is the NEW TREND with the mix metal and dipped paint for a modern look.
|3| Have fun with your water glass! I always have on hand a classic wine & champagne glassware set, but then lots of different water glasses. If I could afford to have all matching sets I would, but in the meantime I love collecting water glasses.
|4| Select stationery pieces that fit your design look. You can easily download templates on Etsy, for almost any look! I love working with a calligraphist in doing handwritten place cards.
I envisioned the guests sitting around the table as a group of girlfriends enjoying a bridal shower or Sunday brunch. A tip to always remember, when guests come to sit at your table, they are there for a full sensory experience. Sight, Sound, Smell, Taste, and TOUCH!

Remember, as the hostess, of your family gathering creating a simple & easy experience for your guests is the priority. Here is my vendor rundown: Flowers by Kristine, BBJ Linen and A.P. Calligraphy.
Bonus vendors! Anthropologie (glassware) and Crate & Barrell (plateware and glassware, flatware). Cheers, to celebrating summer together! Photo Credit: Lisa Shreffler Photography
