Formal or Informal Wedding?
Not every wedding has to be formal and or informal. The juxtaposition of the two can be where you have the most fun! If you are deciding between a formal or informal experience to entertain your wedding guests, the perfect fit could be in between. Here are my entertaining tips!
- Informal experiences are created by…single layering, use of similar textures, finding one WOW factor and a consistent mood for the evening.
- Formal experiences are created by…multiple layering, use of different textures, creating multiple WOW factors and fluctuating moods within the evening.
Still not sure how to find the right fit, here is an example.

A formal wedding has a tabletop setting with a pintuck (crisscross pattern) table linen, smooth shiny lamour napkin with a mirror underneath the floral arrangement. The WOW factor is the trumpet welcoming the guests to their ceremony seat, followed by an elegantly set formal dinner. The sounds of live blue grass music plays over dinner then a variety of old-time classic music passively playing throughout the evening.
An informal wedding has a tabletop setting with a jute (similar to burlap) table linen, textured cotton napkin with a raw wood centerpiece underneath the floral arrangement. The WOW factor is the elaboration ceremony arch with flowers cascading down to a bed of rose petals. The sounds that evening is soft jazz music passively playing throughout the evening.
